About

Fresh tuna poke is packed inside a large avocado that’s been grilled over your stovetop. You have the perfect combo of hot and cool, mild and salty, with a hint of ginger and vinegar. You can top with your favorite poke toppings at your discretion, such as extra sesame seeds, sriracha, spicy mayo, chili flakes, pickled cucumbers, kimchi, nori seaweed, etc.

Ingredients

  • 4 ounce tuna, raw
  • ½ teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon ginger
  • ½ teaspoon, whole pieces sesame seeds
  • 6 ounce avocado

Instructions

  1. Create your tuna poke in advance. Finely chop raw sushi-grade tuna in mix it thoroughly in a bowl with the rice vinegar, soy sauce, ginger, and sesame seeds. Wrap and marinate the tuna in your refrigerator for at least 1 hour before continuing.
  2. When it’s time to eat, prepare your avocado. Slice a large avocado in half and remove the pit, leaving the skins on. Set the avocado halves, fruit-side down, in a pan over high heat. Cook for just a few minutes until you see golden brown grill lines on your avocado.
  3. Once the grilled avocado has cooled, fill the center of each half with the tuna poke. Use a spoon to pack the tuna into the avocados. Enjoy immediately.
