These citrusy green beans are rich with butter, zesty lemon, aromatic garlic and tangy parmesan cheese.
These make a great side to grilled chicken or pork.
Ingredients
- 3 ½ ounce green beans (string beans), raw
- 2 teaspoon, chopped thyme, fresh
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon peel or zest raw
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon, grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Add the green beans to a pan of boiling water and simmer for 4-5 minutes until tender. Drain completely.
- Melt the butter in a skillet over a low/medium heat. Thinly slice the garlic and add to the pan, sweating gently until tender. Add the green beans and toss to combine, sauté for a minute.
- Add the lemon juice, zest and thyme and stir well. Cook for a minute more.
- Remove from the heat and scatter with the grated parmesan, toss to combine.
