This is the perfect meal for two! Juicy sirloin is sliced and laid over a bed of broccoli in a marinara-based sauce. To top it all off, goat cheese is layered over the broccoli and cooked just enough until melted and gooey. If you have any fresh herbs on hand, they will make a fabulous garnish here! A wedge of lemon would do well here too.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounce roast beef, sirloin tip, visible fat eaten
  • ¼ teaspoon seasoned salt
  • â…› teaspoon black pepper
  • â…› teaspoon onion powder
  • â…› teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 teaspoon olive oil
  • 6 ounce broccoli frozen unprepared
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper, ground
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • â…“ cup marinara or spaghetti sauce commercially prepared
  • 1 ounce goat cheese, soft

Instructions

  1. Season a full piece of steak with the seasoned salt, first amount of pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  2. Heat HALF the olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat and place the steak in the oil seasoned side down. Place a lid over the steak and cook for at least 5 minutes per side. You may cook longer for a well done steak. Transfer the cooked steak to a cutting board to rest. Leave any browned bits leftover in your pan.
  3. Chop your THAWED broccoli into small florets. You may use raw broccoli, but your cooking process will take longer. Toss the broccoli with the remaining olive oil in the same pan over a medium-low heat until it picks up all the brown glaze leftover by the steak. Season with the remaining salt and pepper.
  4. Turn the stove heat to low and stir in the chicken broth and marinara. Allow the pan to come to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes to reduce the sauce.
  5. Crumble the goat cheese over the pan. Slice the steak into 8-10 slices and layer them over the pan as well. Place a lid over the pan and cook on a low heat for an additional few minutes – until the goat cheese begins to melt around the edges and the steak heats through.
