This simple but tasty cabbage recipe is loaded with cheese and topped with crispy bacon to serve.
This is a great side for roasted meats or even on its own as a lunch!
Ingredients
- 2 cup cabbage
- 2 slice – 6" long bacon
- 1 tablespoon white onion
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon, grated parmesan cheese
- â…“ cup, grated cheddar cheese
- ¼ teaspoon salt, sea salt
- â…› teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a skillet over a low/medium heat. Add the bacon and cook until golden brown all over and crisp. Remove from the pan with a slotted spoon and set aside.
- Add the onion and garlic to the pan and sweat gently until tender.
- Roughly slice the cabbage into strips and add to the pan. Toss with the garlic and onion and cook until tender and wilted.
- Season the cabbage to taste and add the Parmesan to the pan, stirring through to melt.
- Scatter the cheddar cheese over the cabbage and let it sit on the heat until it starts to melt.
- Crumble over the cooked bacon to serve.
