About

Simply seasoned salmon is just the beginning. The real star of the show is the blanket of crisp and salty prosciutto that adheres to the top of the fish in your oven. An equally simple garlic butter sauce adds the richness and extra bump of flavor the dish needs.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounce salmon, red (sockeye), raw, alaska native
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper, ground
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes by 365
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 slice prosciutto
  • 1 ½ tablespoon butter, unsalted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice, fresh

Instructions

  1. Preheat an oven to 375 degrees. Lay 4-oz salmon filets down on a flat surface and pat dry with a paper towel. Season with the salt, pepper, red pepper, and onion powder.
  2. Lay the salmon down on a sheet tray lined with parchment paper. Lay a slice of prosciutto over each filet. You don’t need to tuck the prosciutto under the salmon.
  3. Bake the salmon for 30 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly when done.
  4. During the final minutes of baking, make the garlic butter sauce. Melt the butter in a small pan over low heat, then stir in the garlic and lemon juice. Let the butter cook until it turns lightly golden and the garlic gives off a nutty smell.
  5. Arrange your salmon on a serving dish and drizzle the garlic butter over each filet with a spoon. Enjoy!
