These sweet and savory fat bombs combine crunchy maple bacon with the richness of cream cheese and heavy cream.
These are a great additional dose of fats between meals and are great to have on hand in the fridge for snacking.
Ingredients
- 3 slice – 6" long bacon
- 1 teaspoon maple flavored syrup by lakanto
- ½ tablespoon maple flavored syrup by lakanto
- ½ cup cream cheese
- ⅓ cup butter
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- ¼ teaspoon salt, sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a shallow oven tray with baking paper. Bring the butter to room temperature.
- Arrange the bacon on the lined tray and brush all over with the half tablespoon of maple syrup. Transfer to the oven to bake for 12-15 minutes until crisp and caramelized. Set aside to cool.
- Whilst the bacon is cooking, add the cream cheese, cream, butter and salt to a food processor. Blend until thick and smooth.
- Spoon the cream cheese mixture into a bowl and crumble in the cooled bacon and drizzle with the remaining syrup. Stir well to combine.
- Transfer the mixture to the fridge for 20 minutes to firm up, the roll into 10 even balls.
- Return to the fridge for a further 2-3 hours or until set.
