About

One of my favorite dishes is Thai Basil Beef, so I turned it into a Keto Air Fryer version! If you have never cooked ground beef in the air fryer, you will love how simple and easy it is. Simply place the ground beef into the air fryer and begin to cook it. Then stir it after the time is up. Continue this process only a few more times until the meat is cooked. During this cooking process, oyster sauce, fish sauce, soy sauce, and sesame seed oil are added. Then right at the very end, fresh Thai basil leaves are tossed into the meat. This dish is excellent served on top of cauliflower rice.

What kind of beef should I use?

I like to use 85% beef which has a nice amount of fat for flavor and macros.

Where can I find Thai basil?

Thai basil can be found at most Asian grocery stores. If you cannot find Thai basil, you can substitute it with flat-leafed Italian basil, but it won’t be quite the same!

I like spicy food, what can I add?

This dish is delicious with Sambal or some chopped Thai chilies on top before serving.

What if I do not have an air fryer?

If you do not have an air fryer, you can cook the beef in a skillet instead:

Serving suggestions

This air fryer Thai Basil Beef would be delicious with this Thai-inspired cauliflower salad:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 clove garlic
  • 2 clove garlic
  • 1 tablespoon chinese oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon fish sauce (nam pla or nuoc mam)
  • 1 teaspoon tamari sauce
  • ½ teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 cup, whole pieces basil

Instructions

  1. Place beef into an air fryer with no rack inserted into the bottom of the basket. Cook at 375 F for 5 minutes.
  2. Stir to break up the meat and add minced garlic cloves to the meat. Stir well to incorporate the garlic into the meat, so it doesn’t burn. Cook at 375 F for 3 minutes.
  3. Break up the beef with a spoon. Add in the oyster sauce, fish sauce, and soy sauce—Cook at 375 F for 5 minutes. Stir and break up the meat.
  4. Cook at 375 F for another 5 minutes to evaporate the liquids.
  5. Stir in the sesame seed oil and toss in the fresh basil leaves (please use Thai basil if possible). Serve over steamed cauliflower rice.
