A sloppy joe is one of my weeknight favorite go-to meals! The sloppy joe is served on top of Keto cheddar almond biscuits, but feel free to use any other Keto-friendly bread. Please use the Keto Cheddar Drop Biscuits for this recipe: The macros for the biscuits are not factored into this recipe, so be sure to calculate those separately.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound hamburger or ground beef, 90% lean
  • 2 teaspoon avocado oil
  • ½ cup white onion
  • ⅓ cup green bell pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon coarse kosher salt by morton
  • ½ cup sugar free ketchup by g hughes
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar replacement by swerve
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon coarse kosher salt by morton

Instructions

  1. Preheat a medium-sized nonstick saute pan over medium-high heat. Add in the oil. Then add in diced white onion and diced green bell pepper. Cook for 1 minute until translucent, adding ¼ teaspoon of kosher salt.
  2. Add the ground beef and stir breaking up the meat slightly. Add in the mustard and ½ teaspoon of kosher salt. Continue cooking until it is no longer pink.
  3. Add in the sugar-free ketchup, brown sweetener and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until combined.
  4. Spoon sloppy joe over a slider biscuit and serve!
