About

Feeling nostalgic? A sloppy joe can bring anybody back to their childhood. Of course, while on the keto diet, you can’t serve your sloppy joes on any old bun. This recipe utilizes a full batch of Carb Manager Bagels, so make sure you have these prepared before starting this recipe. The ground chuck filling can be cooked up in about 20 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 8 ounce ground chuck 80% lean 20% fat by kroger
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¾ tablespoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ cup beef broth
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 6 bagels low carb bagels

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a medium-large skillet on high heat. Then, add in the ground chuck. Brown the beef and break it up with a spatula.
  2. Next, season the beef with the salt, pepper, garlic, paprika, and onion powder. Pour in the beef broth. Turn the heat to a simmer.
  3. Let the beef simmer for about 5 minutes. Then, turn the heat as low as possible and stir in the sour cream. Use a fork or whisk to make sure all the fat breaks down into the sauce.
  4. Return the heat to a gentle simmer. Let the sauce reduce immensely so it is thick and creamy. This can take up to 5 minutes or more, depending on how much liquid your cooked beef made.
  5. Assemble your sloppy joes by slicing 6 Carb Manager Bagels in half. Scoop about a ¼ c. of sloppy joe filling onto each bagel. Enjoy!
