About

Making your own crunch wraps at home is the latest trend, and it works out perfectly on the Keto diet! This crunch wrap is similar to what you might pick up at the local taco restaurant drive-thru. There are just a couple of small Keto changes made for an ultimate low-carb lunch or quick, light dinner. The crunch wrap is made with a sheet of nori, also known as roasted seaweed. Nori is practically flavorless, so it won’t ruin this Mexican-inspired meal. The seaweed sheet is filled with taco-seasoned ground beef with melted cheddar, sour cream, spicy tomatoes, and chopped lettuce. This Keto recipe is easy to make changes to include your favorite crunch wrap toppings. Some suggestions are made further down in this introduction. You won’t want to use this recipe for meal prepping, but you could prepare the components of the crunch wrap individually and assemble when you’re ready to eat.

Modifications To The Crunch Wrap

This Keto crunch wrap recipe uses standard fillings you’d order at your local drive-thru. But you can easily swap out the ingredients for your favorite Keto toppings. If you don’t like sour cream, you can swap it out for a smear of Keto guacamole. You can also make your own chipotle sauce by mixing together mayonnaise, a squirt of ketchup, cumin, and chili powder. If you don’t like spicy canned tomatoes and chilis, you can substitute them with freshly diced tomatoes. You may either omit the cheddar cheese or substitute it with your favorite type. Slices of avocado, diced black olives, chopped cilantro, or pickled jalapeno slices are all clever ingredients to include in your crunch wrap!

I Can’t Find Nori

If you can’t get your hands on full sheets of Nori roasted seaweed, you can use a Keto tortilla recipe instead. Carb Manager has low-carb tortilla recipes available for you to make in advance. Just keep in mind that this will add some carbohydrates to your food log. The Carb Manager Keto Cheesy Garlic Tortilla has about 10g carbs per tortilla. The Keto Tortillas recipe is only about 4g carbs per tortilla. The Low Carb Easy Almond Flour Tortillas is also a Carb Manager recipe with about 20g carbs per serving. Ingredients

  • ¼ teaspoon olive or extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 oz ground beef
  • â…› teaspoon salt
  • â…› teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin, ground
  • â…› teaspoon onion powder
  • â…› teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • â…› cup, shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ oz lettuce
  • 1 sheet laver (nori), dried
  • 1 teaspoon sour cream
  • ½ oz canned diced tomatoes & green chilies

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat on a stove. Once the oil is hot, break up the ground beef in the pan. Season the beef with salt, pepper, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika. Cook the beef as you break it up into crumbly pieces until the beef is browned and crispy on the outside. If you prefer your ground beef either just done or cooked to a crisp, you can cook the beef to your liking.
  2. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the hot beef and let it sit undisturbed until it’s melted. Leave the cheesy beef in the pan set aside off the heat to cool. Meanwhile, chop your lettuce and set it aside. Take a sheet of nori roasted seaweed and lay it on your serving plate. Use a pair of kitchen scissors to cut a slit from the bottom-center of the sheet up to the middle of the sheet. Visualize the nori sheet in 4 equal sections.
  3. In the bottom-left section of the nori, spread the sour cream. In the top-left section, arrange the cheesy ground beef. In the top-right section, arrange the diced tomato and chilis. In the bottom-right section, arrange the chopped lettuce. To fold the crunch wrap, pull the section with sour cream up and over the cheesy ground beef. Fold the top-left section over the top-right section. Then fold the crunch wrap over the bottom-right section to complete the meal. Enjoy as a warm hand-held wrap.
