About

Your taste buds change as you age! Many adults have come to not appreciate beef quite like they used to, but ground turkey makes a wonderful substitute that is flavorful, sits lighter in the stomach, and is healthier! This turkey meatloaf is stuffed with gooey cheese and topped with baked marinara sauce. Yum!

Ingredients

  • 2 pound ground turkey
  • ¾ cup, shredded parmesan cheese
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper, ground
  • ½ teaspoon garlic, powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • ¼ cup, chopped parsley
  • 1 cup, shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ⅓ cup marinara sauce, store bought
  • 2 tablespoon, shredded mozzarella cheese, whole milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat an oven to 375 degrees. In a bowl, combine the ground turkey with the shredded parm, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, mustard powder, and fresh chopped parsley (you can use dried if you don’t have fresh on hand, but fresh tastes better).
  2. Lightly spray a loaf pan or rectangular baking dish. Press half the ground tukey mix into the pan, creating a pocket in the middle. Load the pocket in the center of the loaf with the first amount of shredded mozzarella.
  3. Press the second amount of ground turkey over the bottom half of the loaf, making sure to seal the edges so the cheese doesn’t squeeze out during baking. Spread the marina sauce over the top of the loaf, and sprinkle about 2 TB of additional mozzarella over the top.
  4. Bake the meatloaf for about 60 minutes, or until a meat thermometer reads at least 165 degrees fahrenheit.
  5. Allow the meatloaf to cool for 5 minutes before slicing into 6 slices. Enjoy!
