These richly flavored meatballs combine ground turkey with smokey Spanish chorizo, oozy mozzarella cheese, tangy parmesan, and aromatic fresh basil.

These make a great family dinner served with cauliflower rice or zucchini noodles, or as a snack with your favorite dipping sauce.

Ingredients

  • 9 ounce ground turkey
  • 2 ounce fresh food spanish chorizo by sainsbury's
  • 1 tablespoon basil, fresh
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tablespoon, grated parmesan cheese
  • ½ small red onion
  • ⅓ cup, grated mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon salt, sea salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a shallow oven tray.
  2. Finely chop the chorizo, onion, garlic and basil and add to a mixing bowl along with the ground turkey, mozzarella, parmesan, salt and pepper. Mix together well with your hands.
  3. Divide the mixture into 12 even portions and roll into balls with your hands. Arrange across the prepared oven tray and bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden and cooked through.
