About

If you love mussels, then you must try this creamy mussel pot! Mussels are a healthy and effective way to get nutritious protein in your system. You also can find healthy oils in your mussels, which is great for heart health. Serve this dish with a creamy, slightly cheesy sauce, and you have one delectable meal!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound mussel, raw
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 1 teaspoon oregano fresh
  • 4 teaspoon thyme fresh
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup, shredded parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Make sure all your mussels have been cleaned and rinsed. Place the mussels in a large pot, so they can cover the bottom without piling on top of each other. Add in the chicken broth, fresh oregano sprigs, and thyme sprigs.
  2. Cover the pot and bring the pot to a strong simmer. Remove the lid, and continue simmering the pot for about 5 minutes so the broth reduced slightly. Then, transfer the mussels and herbs to a clean serving plate. Leave the broth in the pot.
  3. Turn the stove’s heat down to low. Melt the butter into the broth. Then, gently stir in the heavy cream, salt, and pepper.
  4. When the liquid is heated through and emulsified, stir in the parmesan cheese. Once the cream sauce has thickened, pour it over the mussels for serving. Enjoy!
