This holiday inspired ham is aromatic with festive spices and maple flavored syrup.

Once you have prepared the glaze for the ham, you can sit back and relax whilst the slow cooker takes over. This is perfect shredded or thickly sliced.

Ingredients

  • 750 gram pork fresh leg ham whole separable lean only raw
  • 2 tablespoon maple flavored syrup by lakanto
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 slice – 1" diameter ginger root, raw
  • ΒΌ teaspoon salt, sea salt
  • β…› teaspoon black pepper
  • β…› teaspoon cloves, ground
  • β…“ cup water

Instructions

  1. Finely grate the ginger and mince the garlic. Add to a mixing bowl along with the syrup, cinnamon and cloves. Mix well to combine.
  2. Add the gammon to the base of a slow cooker and pour over the syrup, ensuring the gammon is coated all over in the sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Add the water to the slow cooker.
  4. Cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 4-5 until completely cooked through and the meat is falling apart. Slice or shred to serve.
