Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tbsp, chopped shallots
  • 4 tablespoon shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 395 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Finely chop the shallot and add to a mixing bowl with the ground beef, mustard, salt and pepper.
  3. Using your hands, combine the ingredients together thoroughly.
  4. Divide the mixture evenly into 8 portions, creating individual patties with your hands – about ½ inch thick.
  5. Top 4 of the patties with a heaped tablespoon of grated cheese.
  6. Place the remaining 4 patties on top of the cheese covered patties and gently pinch the sides together to seal the cheese within the burger.
  7. Transfer to the oven to bake for 20-23 minutes turning halfway through, until browned all over and completely cooked through.
