These chicken drumsticks are baked in a sweet and spicy marinade until golden and caramelized
Although these have been oven baked, they would also be great cooked over a BBQ served with a low carb slaw!
Ingredients
- 4 medium chicken drumstick, skin eaten
- 2 teaspoon lime juice, fresh
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes by sweet tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon tomato puree
- 1 tablespoon maple flavored syrup by lakanto
- 1 tablespoon tamari sauce
- ½ tablespoon olive oil
- ¼ teaspoon salt, sea salt
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Add the tomato purée, lakanto syrup, tamari sauce, lime juice, olive oil, salt, pepper and chilli flakes to a mixing bowl. Stir well to combine.
- Add the drumsticks to a large bowl and spoon over the marinade. Use your hands to coat the drumsticks in the marinade, cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Arrange the drumsticks across a shallow oven tray and bake for 30-35 minutes or until completely cooked through and the skin is caramelized and crisp.
