Maybe you weren’t a fan of brussel sprouts as a child, but this recipe is perfectly good for adults and kids alike! These sprouts are baked at a high heat to have a super crispy outside and a tender, chewy inside. Simply seasoned, and tossed with bacon, each bite is a little salty, a little smokey, and have just a touch of citrus!
Ingredients
- 1 pound brussels sprouts, raw
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 slice – 6" long bacon
- 1 teaspoon lemon peel
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Line a sheet tray with parchment paper. Toss the brussel sprouts with the olive oil, salt, and pepper. Then, spread them out on the lined tray.
- Bake the brussel sprouts in the oven for 50 minutes, turning them over halfway through for even cooking. Meanwhile, cook the bacon to a crisp, and chop it into bits for later use.
- In the last 10 minutes of the brussel sprouts baking, sprinkle the bacon bits over the brussel sprouts and return the tray to the oven for the final 10 minutes.
- Serve the brussel sprouts with fresh lemon zest and enjoy!
