How To Use Keto BBQ Sauce

BBQ sauce is a versatile staple to include in your Keto condiment stash. It makes a great sauce on its own, perfect slathered over BBQ meats such as burgers or sausages. It also makes a great marinade for slow-cooked meats such as pulled pork or beef brisket. Please be sure to adjust your macros accordingly to allow for any changes or adjustments made to the original recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon gourmet collection smoked paprika by mccormick
  • â…” cup water
  • ½ cup tomato puree
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper (cayenne), ground
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ tablespoon maple flavored syrup by lakanto
  • ½ teaspoon cumin, ground
  • ½ teaspoon salt, sea salt
  • â…› teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Add the tomato purée, maple-flavored syrup, mustard and balsamic vinegar to a small saucepan. Set over a low heat. Stir well to combine the liquids.
  2. Add the paprika, chili powder, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, cinnamon, onion powder, cumin, salt and ground cloves to the saucepan. Stir well to combine. Heat through gently to warm the spices. Please feel free to adjust the quantities of spices and seasoning to suit your own tastes, adding more or less spices as desired.
  3. Add the water to the saucepan and stir well to combine. Bring to a gentle boil then reduce to a simmer. Simmer the sauce for 10 minutes until thickened and reduced. Taste and adjust seasonings and spices to personal preference. Allow the sauce to cool then store in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to use.
