These quick and easy Brussels sprouts are pan fried with sweet red onion, maple flavored syrup and smoky paprika until tender.

These make a great side to BBQ meats or protein of your choice.

Ingredients

  • 2 cup brussels sprouts, raw
  • 2 teaspoon gourmet collection smoked paprika by mccormick
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon maple flavored syrup by lakanto
  • ½ medium – 2 1/2" diameter red onion
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt, sea salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Thinly slice the sprouts discarding the tough bases and any wilted outer leaves. Thinly slice the onions. Heat the oil in a skillet over a medium heat and add the sprouts, onion, syrup, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper.
  2. Pan fry for 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender and golden.
