This quick and easy pan fried cabbage is sautéed with zesty lime, sweet red onion and aromatic garlic, then tossed with fragrant cilantro.

This is a great side to Asian inspired pork, chicken or plant based proteins.

Ingredients

  • 2 cup red cabbage
  • 2 tablespoon cilantro
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • ½ small red onion
  • ¼ teaspoon salt, sea salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ each – juice from one lime lime juice, fresh

Instructions

  1. Thinly slice the red onion and the garlic. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over a medium heat and add the onion and garlic, sweating gently until tender.
  2. Thinly slice the cabbage and add to the skillet along with the lime juice, lime zest, salt and pepper. Stir well to combine and pan fry over a medium/high heat for 4-5 minutes or until the cabbage is tender.
  3. Roughly chop the cilantro and stir through the cabbage to serve.
