About
This snack mix is super easy to make and is huge on flavor! I used sambal, a chile-garlic paste you can find in the Asian section, but harissa would be great too! Just look for a chile paste with zero carbs and no added sugars.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 cup, whole pieces almonds, raw
- ½ cup, whole pieces sunflower seeds
- ½ cup raw pepitas by trader joe's
- 2 tablespoon sambal oelek paste of chili by rooster
- ⅛ teaspoon coarse kosher salt by morton
Instructions
- Begin heating a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the oil and the nuts. Turn the heat down slightly to medium-low. Allow the nuts to toast for 6-7 minutes.
- Add sambal and the salt (starting with ⅛ t and then adding an additional ⅛ t if you would like). Continue to cook for another 1-2 minutes to toast all the ingredients together. Let cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
