About

Chorizo pizza? It goes together better than you think! With acidic marinara, sweet basil, and salty mozzarella, crisp chorizo tastes delicious in a ham cup. A word of caution that chorizo exudes a lot of fat, so be careful when biting into a hot ham cup!

Ingredients

  • 4 ounce chorizo
  • 6 very thin slice – each 0.2 ounce ham slices
  • 6 tablespoon marinara or spaghetti sauce commercially prepared
  • 3 tablespoon, shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 10 leaf basil
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic

Instructions

  1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees. In a small skillet, cook the ground chorizo over high heat. Break up the chorizo into crumbly bits and cook until the chorizo had turned to a crisp. Set the chorizo aside to cool slightly when done.
  2. In a 6-ct muffin tin, arrange 6 slices of circle-cut ham in each tin. Press the ham down so each slice mimics a little cup. Use a slotted spoon to distribute the chorizo into the bottom of each ham cup, leaving excess grease aside.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the remaining ingredients. Spoon the marinara mixture over the chorizo.
  4. Bake the tray for 15 minutes. Allow the muffin tray to cool for a few minutes before pulling the ham cups out.
