About

The Cuban sandwich is a classic almost everyone knows: juicy ham, smokey bacon or pulled pork, tangy pickles, mild swiss, and just a smear of mustard! Thankfully, all you have to remove is the bread, and you have the perfect ingredients to make Cubano Pinwheels! This recipe is an excellent snack. If it’s too much for one sitting, you can cut smaller slices or divide this snack over two courses.

Ingredients

  • 6 medium slice – 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" x 1/16" – each 0.75 ounce deli ham
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 3 slice (from pre-sliced package) – each 3/4 ounce swiss cheese
  • 2 slice – 6" long bacon
  • 1 ounce pickles

Instructions

  1. Lay the slices of ham down on a flat surface in a horizontal row, so they are slightly overlapping each other. Spread the dijon across the slices of ham.
  2. Lay the swiss cheese over the ham. You can break apart the swiss cheese to make the rolling process easier later on. Then, lay down the bacon slices. Slice the pickle thinly, and lay this over the bacon, as pictured.
  3. Starting from the edge with the bacon and pickle, gently roll the ham slices into a tight roll. Use toothpicks to hold the roll in place, if necessary, and slice five equal pieces from the roll.
  4. Enjoy!
