This creamy sardine pate is salty with capers and a has a tangy twist of lemon.

This is a great option for adding extra omega 3 to your diet and is perfect for spreading on keto toast or crackers!

Ingredients

  • 4 ounce sardines
  • 4 ounce cream cheese spread
  • 1 medium – 4 1/8" long scallions
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon peel or zest raw
  • ½ tablespoon, whole pieces capers
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper, ground

Instructions

  1. Drain the sardines and roughly shred the meat into a food processor, taking care to remove any bones.
  2. Finely slice the scallion and add to the food processor along with the cream cheese, capers, lemon juice, lemon zest and black pepper. Blend the mixture to combine until you have a course paste.
  3. Spoon the pate into a large ramekin, smoothing over the surface. Cover and refrigerate for one hour before serving.
