Ingredients

  • 15 ounce halloumi by pittas
  • 2 teaspoon red chili flakes by sweet tomatoes
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 ¼ cup finely ground almond meal flour by bob's red mill
  • 0.2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 390 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Slice the halloumi into thick strips – about 2cm’s
  3. Add the ground almonds, chili flakes and pepper to a mixing bowl. Stir well to combine.
  4. Crack the egg into a small bowl and whisk well.
  5. Place each halloumi strip in turn into the egg mixture, then into the almond mixture so that it is finely coated. It is easiest to do this using tongs to prevent the mixture sticking to your hands.
  6. Arrange the dippers on a very lightly greased oven tray and place in the center of the oven to bake for 4 minutes on each side. The breading will be lightly golden.
  7. Serve immediately.
