This low carb take on cheesy French fries, uses celery root in place of potato.
The perfect potato substitute, celery root is a great low carb alternative for those following a ketogenic diet and can be used to replace potatoes in most recipes.
This recipe serves as a deliciously simple side to meat, or even on its own as a decadent snack!
Ingredients
- 1 cup grated cheese
- ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 0.2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 pound fresh food vegetables root celeriac (loose) by sainsbury's
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 390 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Peel and thinly slice the celery root, like potato fries and arrange across an oven tray.
- Sprinkle over the garlic powder, salt and pepper and drizzle with the olive oil. Use your hands to rub the seasonings into the fries.
- Transfer to the oven to bake for 25 minutes, turning halfway through.
- Remove from the oven and heat a grill to medium.
- Sprinkle the cheddar over the fries, along with the parmesan.
- Place the tray under the grill for 5 minutes to melt the cheese.
- Serve immediately.
