This deliciously simple stir fried broccoli is coated in a sweet, sour and spicy dressing of maple flavored syrup, dried chili flakes, sesame oil and topped with crunchy sesame seeds.
This is a great side dish to accompany sweet and sour pork, chicken or seafood.
Ingredients
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 2 teaspoon lime juice, fresh
- 1 tablespoon maple flavored syrup by lakanto
- 1 tablespoon tamari sauce
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon, whole pieces sesame seeds
- 1 teaspoon hot chili pepper, dried, with seeds
Instructions
- Add the broccoli to a pan of boiling water. Simmer for 4-5 minutes until just tender. Drain and set aside.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet or wok over a low/medium heat. Thinly slice the garlic and sweat gently until tender. Add the broccoli and increase the heat to medium and stir fry for a minute to brown the edges a little.
- Whilst the broccoli is cooking, whisk together the syrup, tamari, sesame oil, lime juice and chili flakes.
- Pour half the sweet and sour dressing over the broccoli and stir fry for a minute more.
- Drizzle the broccoli with the remaining dressing and scatter with sesame seeds to serve.
