About
This mildy spiced beef dish is inspired by the flavours of a traditional kheema pav.
Typically served with bread, this makes for a great lunch served alongside a low carb flatbread or in a keto wrap.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup, cut pieces green beans (string beans), raw
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon, ground
- 1 teaspoon ginger, ground
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin, ground
- ½ 1 tsp ground coriander
- ⅛ teaspoon cloves, ground
- ⅛ teaspoon turmeric, ground
- ⅓ cup tomato, canned
- ¾ cup beef broth, bouillon or consomme, homemade
- 2 medium – 4 1/8" long scallions
- ¼ teaspoon salt, sea salt
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Heat a tablespoon of olive in a large pan over a medium heat. Add the ground beef and fry until browned all over.
- Mince the garlic and add to the pan along with the dried herbs and spices, salt and pepper. Stir well to combine. Continue to cook for a further minute or two.
- Add the green beans, stock and tomatoes and simmer for 15-20 minutes until most of the liquid has evaporated.
- Finely slice the scallions and scatter over the cooked mince to serve.
