About
One of the easiest sides you’ll ever make: simply slice, season, and roast in the oven! Thin cabbage steaks are flavored with dry seasonings and drizzled with a ketchup-based drizzle, making the cabbage sticky and crispy in your oven.
Ingredients
- 3 teaspoon olive oil
- 12 ounce cabbage, green, raw
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper, ground
- ⅛ teaspoon crushed red pepper by simply organic
- ⅛ teaspoon garlic, powder
- ⅛ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
- ½ teaspoon worcestershire sauce, low sodium
- ¼ each – juice from one lemon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat an oven to 375 degrees. Spread the olive oil across a sheet tray. Slice whole cabbage steaks from the center of a cabbage head, each one weighing 4 oz (about ½-inch thick). Lay the cabbage steaks flat in the oil and season with the salt, pepper, red pepper, garlic, and onion powder.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining ingredients. Drizzle the sticky sauce over the cabbage steaks as pictured.
- Bake the tray for 35 minutes on a center rack in the oven. Serve with a spatula to keep the steaks whole, or mix the cabbage shreds with their sticky sauce before serving.
