About

These tasty Keto chicken tenders are deliciously crunchy and perfect for dipping. Our low carb crumbed chicken is coated in beaten egg, then liberally breaded all over in a crunchy coating of ground almonds, chopped pecans, ground cinnamon, and a little seasoning. These make a great dinner or lunch protein served with your favorite Keto or low carb sides.

Can I Use Different Nuts?

We have created a crunchy breading for our low carb chicken tenders with finely chopped pecans and ground almonds. If you would like to replace the pecans, you can do so with another finely chopped Keto-friendly nut. Chopped macadamia or walnuts would both make great substitutions. You can also use almond flour in place of ground almonds. This will create a finer breading consistency. Please be sure to adjust your macros to account for any changes made to the original recipe.

Serving Suggestions

These crunchy Keto dippers are perfect served as a lunch or dinner protein. The low carb chicken tenders can be served alongside a hearty Keto salad, some cauliflower mash or a serving of buttery steamed veggies. The tenders would also be ideal served with a sweet or savory low carb dip such as BBQ or sweet chili. You will find a delicious array of accompaniments and dips in our sides section.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz raw chicken tenders
  • 1 medium raw egg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ⅔ cup, ground almonds, raw
  • ½ cup, chopped pecans
  • ½ teaspoon salt, sea salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Crack the egg into a bowl. Beat until smooth. Add the ground almonds, chopped pecans, cinnamon, salt and pepper to a separate bowl. Stir well to combine.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a shallow oven tray with baking paper. Arrange the chicken pieces across a clean work surface. Dip each chicken strip in egg so that it is well coated. Then, dredge the egg coated chicken pieces in the nut mixture until breaded all over. Press the chicken firmly into the breading to ensure it sticks.
  3. Arrange the breaded chicken pieces across the lined oven tray. Transfer to the oven and bake for 15-18 minutes or until completely cooked through and no longer pink. The crumb should be crisp and golden. Serve hot with your preferred Keto sides.
