These tangy pan fried mushrooms are tossed with tamari sauce and smoky sesame oil until golden and caramelized and tossed with crunchy toasted coconut flakes.

This is a great side to an Asian inspired meal.

Ingredients

  • 6 medium mushrooms, raw
  • 2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened toasted coconut flakes by let's do organic
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon tamari sauce
  • 1 large scallions
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro

Instructions

  1. Thinly slice the mushrooms and scallion. Heat the coconut oil in a large skillet over a medium heat. Add the mushrooms and scallion and pan fry for 3-4 minutes until tender.
  2. Add the tamari sauce and sesame oil and cook for a further minute or two until the mushrooms are soft and golden and the liquid has all been absorbed.
  3. Toss with the coconut flakes and chopped fresh cilantro to serve.
