This tender and buttery cabbage is cooked with onion, garlic and stock to create a rich and creamy low carb side.
Perfect served with Sunday lunch or grilled pork.
Ingredients
- 2 cup cabbage
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- ¼ cup vegetable broth, bouillon or consomme
- ¼ medium – 2 1/2" diameter white onion
- ⅓ cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over a medium heat. Thinly slice the cabbage and onion and crush the garlic. Add to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes until the cabbage is tender.
- Add the cream and stock and stir well. Bring to a simmer and cook for a further 3-4 minutes until the cream has thickened and reduced, and the cabbage is soft. Serve hot.
