This tender and buttery cabbage is cooked with onion, garlic and stock to create a rich and creamy low carb side.

Perfect served with Sunday lunch or grilled pork.

Ingredients

  • 2 cup cabbage
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup vegetable broth, bouillon or consomme
  • ¼ medium – 2 1/2" diameter white onion
  • ⅓ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over a medium heat. Thinly slice the cabbage and onion and crush the garlic. Add to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes until the cabbage is tender.
  2. Add the cream and stock and stir well. Bring to a simmer and cook for a further 3-4 minutes until the cream has thickened and reduced, and the cabbage is soft. Serve hot.
