These deliciously simple mini burgers are loaded with ground beef, tangy cheddar and sweet tomatoes.
These make for a great weekend snack or treat in between meals.
Ingredients
- ½ pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon oregano, dried
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small – 2 2/5" diameter tomato
- 8 inner (small) leaf romaine lettuce
- ½ cup, grated cheddar cheese
- ¼ teaspoon salt, sea salt
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Add the ground beef to a mixing bowl along with the oregano, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
- Mix all ingredients together well using your hands and then divide into four even patties.
- Heat the olive oil in a large pan over a medium heat. Add the beef patties to the pan, frying until golden brown all over and completely cooked through. About 8 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the heat and sprinkle each patty with 1/4 of the cheese.
- To serve, arrange each patty on a lettuce leaf. Top with a slice of tomato. Top with the remaining lettuce leaf and secure with a toothpick.
