Thick, ripe tomato slices, smooth swiss cheese, and a bright and peppery tuna salad mix: you couldn’t ask for more from the title! No need to make this snack in advance; it’s super quick to throw together in between meals, before a workout, or to share with the kids.
Ingredients
- 1 can – each 5 ounce net weight tuna
- ½ tablespoon mayo
- ½ teaspoon dijon mustard
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper, ground
- ⅛ teaspoon celery seed
- 1 tablespoon, chopped green onions
- 4 ounce tomato raw (includes cherry, grape, roma)
- 1 ½ slice (from pre-sliced package) – each 3/4 ounce swiss cheese, natural
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the tuna with mayo, dijon, salt, pepper, celery seed, and chopped green onion.
- Slice roma tomatoes into approx. ½-inch slices (3 slices per serving) and arrange on a serving plate. Place a ¼-slice of swiss cheese on top of each tomato slice.
- Place about 2 teaspoons of tuna salad atop each tomato topper. Use the measuring spoon to gently press the tuna salad into place.
