These sweet and savory celery stalks are pan fried with balsamic vinegar, aromatic garlic and maple flavored syrup.

These make a great side to roasted pork.

Ingredients

  • 6 medium – stalk – 7 1/2" to 8" long celery stalks
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon maple flavored syrup by lakanto
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt, sea salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Slice the celery stalks in half lengthwise then slice each half into thirds. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over a medium heat. Add the celery and cook for 2 minutes to soften and brown a little.
  2. Thinly slice the garlic and add to the pan and sweat for a minute more. Add the balsamic and syrup and stir well to combine. Pan fry for 2-3 minutes more until the celery is well browned and caramelized.
