These radishes are pan fried until caramelized and golden with sweet maple flavored syrup, spicy chili flakes, crunchy sesame seeds and aromatic scallions.

These make a great side to grilled meats or protein of your choice.

Ingredients

  • 10 ½ ounce radish
  • 2 small – 3" long scallions
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ tablespoon maple flavored syrup by lakanto
  • ½ teaspoon hot chili pepper, dried, with seeds
  • ½ teaspoon, whole pieces sesame seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon salt, sea salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Slice the radishes into halves discarding the tops and tips. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over a medium heat and add the radishes. Pan fry for 5-6 minutes until fork tender.
  2. Add the chili flakes, sesame oil, syrup, sesame seeds, salt and pepper. Finely chop the scallion and add to the skillet.
  3. Stir to combine and cook for a minute more or until the radishes are tender and golden.
