About

Baking spiced walnuts make the house smell amazing and gives me all the Fall feels! The walnuts are sweetened with a powdered sweetener and then spiced with cinnamon, allspice, a pinch of nutmeg and ginger. These warm spices are sure to please. The recipe says to use 1/8 teaspoon of nutmeg, but just use a pinch (~ 1/16 of a teaspoon).

Ingredients

  • 3 cup, chopped walnuts
  • ½ cup the ultimate icing sugar replacement by swerve
  • ¼ teaspoon coarse kosher salt by morton
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoon allspice, ground
  • ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ⅛ teaspoon ginger, ground
  • 1 large raw egg, white

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250 F. Combine the egg white, sweetener, salt and spices in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the nuts and mix until well coated.
  3. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet and try to separate as many of the walnuts as possible. It does not have to be perfect because you will be stirring them as the bake.
  4. Stir the nuts every 10-15 minutes until 45 minutes have elapsed. Let them cool and then store in an airtight container.
